On February 8, 2016 I attended a Member Update Presentation at Vida Vacations (which is the timeshare sales division of Grupo Vidanta) in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit (Mexico). I owned a one bedroom at the Grand Bliss (a Vidanta Resort), and agreed to trade into the Grand Luxxe Residential Loft (another Vidanta Resort).

Vida Vacations provided an equity credit, and I agreed to surrender 3 timeshares: Condominio Solamar Inn (in Mazatlan, Sinaloa (Mexico)); Westgate Towers (in Kissimmee, FL (USA)); and Bel Air Collection (MPV 25095)(which operates several resorts in Mexico). At the time of the equity trade-in at Vida Vacations and later through email correspondence with Global Resort Transfer, I mentioned that Westgate Resorts had enacted a Right of First Refusal policy, several years after I purchased my timeshare. It would have cost more money to trade-in my timeshare with Solamar Inn, so I elected the option of buying back my timeshare rights with Solamar Inn from Global Resort Transfer. At this point the Westgate Towers and the Bel Air membership were assigned to Global Resort Transfer.

In 2017, more than a year after the upgrade at Vida Vacations, Global Vacation Trade found a buyer for the Westgate Towers timeshare (which was presented to Westgate Resorts). On June 27, 2017 Westgate Resorts elected to exercise their Right of First Refusal. On September 14, 2017 Westgate Resorts indicated they had submitted the appropriate documentation to the County to transfer the deed. Then on November 7th, I received an email from Elizabeth Carvajal (for Global Resort Transfer) indicating she had found another buyer.

Since Westgate had already exercised their option, the email from Ms. Carvajal had no logic. Now it is early December 2017, and I have never received a status report on the Bel Air Collection membership transfer. Bel Air Collection has sent an invoice for the 2017 and 2018 maintenance fees, which has not been paid.

The agreement (as executed at Vida Vacations) was that I would be responsible for the 2016 maintenance fee, but not for future year maintenance fees. I believe Global Resort Transfer has intentially delayed finding an owner for the Bel Air Collections membership. It appears to me that Global Resort Transfer operates a "silent auction", with $1 USD as the minimum bid. Eventually, somebody agrees to pay a dollar (plus any fees/late charges) to become the new owner of a timeshare.

I agreed to pay $350 USD for filing fees, and $500 USD for processing fee to Global Vacation Trade.

It is Global Vacation Trade OR Global Resort Transfer's responsibility to find an owner of the Bel Air Collection membership. I was never informed that Global Vacation Trade would take more than 21 months to complete their contractual obligations.

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Global Resort Transfer ineffective and costly to transfer timeshare

We bought a membership to Palace Resorts in January, 2011 based on their agreement to take ownership of our timeshare week. Palace Resorts contracted with Global Resort Transfer to take our timeshare week at Mountainside Lodge. The past 14 months have been a nightmare attempting to complete the transfer. Global Resort Transfer rarely responds to emails or phone calls.

Their neglect has now resulted in my responsibility to pay 2012 maintenance fees. They owe me $873. They have refused to pay the fees, instead blaming Mountainside Lodge. I've been copying member services at Palace Resorts hoping they will intervene.

We are having a terrible issue with our transfer!! Through Palace Premier Resorts we sold our timeshare, they used this company.

Palace Resorts/Global Transfers International Inc did not provide us with the correct paperwork/documents to sign (part of Global's scam). We are now being sued for $1000s because, five years after thinking we've sold the timeshare, we haven't because the correct paperwork was not filed.

We are in default of years worth of maintenance fees! Global do this on purpose!!!!
